MOXI Aftercare
Our MOXI laser is a fractional laser treatment tailored to your skin type, condition, overall skin health, and healing ability. Responses can vary from mild to moderate, and you may experience one or more of the following reactions.
Here's some information about what to expect and how to care for your skin over the next few days.
-
SPF Protection: An aftercare balm with SPF has been applied to protect your skin on the way home.
Cooling Comfort: If you feel warmth or heat, sitting with a fan or using air conditioning (like in your car) can provide relief.
-
It’s normal to experience the following after your MOXI session:
Redness: Lasts a few hours to 5-7 days, depending on your skin.
Pinpoint Bruising: Common in older skin or those with sun damage.
Swelling: Especially around the eyes and cheeks, lasting 2-4 days. Sleep with an extra pillow and use a cold compress to help.
Warmth/Heat: May persist for 24 hours or slightly longer. Cool air (fans or AC) can provide relief.
MENDS: Tiny dark spots forming 5-10 days post-treatment, making the skin feel like sandpaper. Avoid picking or rubbing to prevent pigmentation changes.
Pink Glow: A healthy pink tint and occasional red dots may appear and resolve within a month.
-
To protect your skin and promote healing, avoid the following for the first three days:
Strenuous exercise or hot yoga.
Saunas, swimming, spas, or massages.
Astringent shampoos near the treated area.
Makeup application within the first 24 hours.
Unclean makeup tools if using makeup after 24 hours (use clean hands and brushes).
-
Follow these steps to ensure proper care:
First 24 Hours
Moisturiser: Apply a gentle moisturiser (e.g., Cetaphil or CeraVe) 2 hours after treatment.
Cleansing (Optional): Use tepid water only if cleansing is desired.
Ongoing Skincare Routine
AM: Cleanse with a gentle cleanser, and apply moisturiser and sunscreen.
PM: Cleanse and moisturise but kip sunscreen.
Gentle Handling: Pat skin dry with a clean cloth. Avoid rubbing, scrubbing, or using devices like Clarisonic to prevent scarring or hypopigmentation.
Sunscreen: Apply daily and reapply every two hours when exposed to direct sunlight. This is essential to maintain your results.
