We prefer you to come in for a consultation before you book an appointment. Why? You are uniquely you right? From age, to skin type, to how expressive you are to how much sun damage you have… see, endless. We take our time to work out what you want, what you need and how that will work for you within your budget and lifestyle. Come in, we don’t bite x

This is by far our bragging right! Between the two of us, we offer SAFE, educated and passionate delivery of treatment. Amber is a Registered Nurse, with over 2 decades of clinical practice (predominantly in the dermatology, skin and aesthetics world). 10 years in her own business, offering injectables in a safe and delicate way. Cara is our beast when it comes to all things skin. She is laser trained, safety trained and has 2 years experience driving a BBL Moxi. Her exceptional results are seen in her before and afters, which will blow your mind. Both doing continuing education every month. Amber recently was the key note speaker at a Sciton conference, discussing skin lesions and safety with laser treatments. Authority is ours.

Yes! Book in for a consultation and we can make a plan x

This is a hard question to answer! There are a list of things to avoid before your appointment, that will minimise the chances, but we do our best to avoid it. Try these things to minimise bruising.
Avoid alcohol the night before
Avoid exercise the day of your appointment
Stop fish oils, omegas and turmeric a few days before
Avoid aspirin, warfarin, all non steroidals (neurofen, brufen, voltaren, celerbrex etc) for several days before
-
We advise you to minimise all sun exposure whilst you are in the healing period. This goes for BBL, Moxi and peels. Not only could you ruin the treatment you have just had, but you may make it worse. Ask us about what sunscreens we recommend
-
There will always be a risk that you are turned away if you do not see us first. Feel free to message us via the contact page and we can steer you in the right direction x

BBL and Moxi do different things. BBL is the best device on the market for targeting pigment and vascular issues like rosacea and broken capillaries. BBL can not be used to treat melasma (hormonal pigmentation). Moxi is a fractionated non-ablative laser, meaning it is a gentle resurfacing device to help with textural issues and skin brightness and health.

At Skin Poet, we don’t just offer Sciton treatments, we’ve helped lead the way in NZ. As one of the countries founding clinics to invest in this platform, we’ve built our reputation on experience, results and ongoing education. In partnership with Sciton, Amber was invited to be the keynote speaker ay the last NZ conference, reflecting our commitment to clinical excellence and our position as a trusted authority in advanced laser technology.
